Good Afternoon Trinity,

I pray you are all having a wonderful God filled week. What has happened in your life this week that would cause you to just stop what you’re doing and give God the praise He is so deserving of. Sometimes we get so busy in life that we just don’t take the time to acknowledge the things God is doing. We give Him the quick “Thanks God” with the intention of catching up later with Him to truly give Him thanks, but that time doesn’t come. Stop and think for a moment about the power and majesty of the God we love and His love for us. Remember then, His promise to never leave us nor forsake us or to say to us “hey I’ll catch up with you later I’m a little busy right now.” Here is your scripture reading for this week.

Psalm 100: 1 – 5

As you read these words you can almost hear a melody that would accompany this Psalm. Warning, this Psalm should be read while sitting down because it may cause you to dance if you are standing. Wow, wouldn’t that be a site? It could be if you ever saw me dance. But there is something that is very special about this Psalm. There is an attitude that this Psalm projects.

When I was a little kid I remember there seemed to be two distinct groups of Christians in our church. Those who looked like they were having some sort of stomach problem and those who obviously knew something the other group didn’t know and were genuinely happy about it. The second group were the ones that others seemed to gravitate to and just acted like they were happy to be alive and be in church.

Experiences in life will show you that bad news will travel faster than good news and a bad attitude is much more contagious than a good attitude. I’m not saying that the people with the appearance of stomach problems in church weren’t Christians, I’m just saying they sure didn’t look too happy about it. A visitor in that church would probably notice the Christians with the faces of pain before they would notice the Christians with the smiles on their faces.

You see Psalm 100 is a Psalm with an attitude of joy and praise for the Lord. It’s a stop and think who He is and what He has done for each of us. Not only what He has done but what He has planned for those who love Him. If that doesn’t put a spring in your step or a smile on your face, you must have a stomach problem. “Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing.” It sure sounds like the Lord enjoys the attitude of joyful Christians. Don’t be afraid to demonstrate your love and joy to the Lord.

God Bless’

Pastor Dave
